About Uwase Mart
Our story
Uwase Mart was founded in Kigali by Aline Uwase with a clear mission: make quality goods accessible to every Rwandan household at honest, transparent prices. What began as a neighbourhood shop has grown into a multi-platform company spanning e-commerce and mobile commerce.
We are 100% Rwandan owned and operated, regulated and licensed, and proud to reinvest every franc of profit back into the communities we serve.
What we do
Uwase Mart serves households and businesses on one platform. Families shop everyday essentials at honest retail prices, while shops, restaurants, hotels, offices and institutions buy in bulk at wholesale prices. Orders are delivered across Kigali, and customers pay by Cash on Delivery or MTN MoMo.
- Online store: uwase.rw, with groceries, household and personal care products and more, at retail and wholesale prices.
- Android app (coming soon): shop and track orders from your phone. Become a beta tester to try it first.
- Delivery: our own riders and delivery partners across Gasabo, Kicukiro and Nyarugenge.
Our impact
Every order placed through Uwase Mart supports a chain of local producers, suppliers, and delivery riders. We give priority shelf space to Rwandan-made products and work directly with smallholder farmers and cooperatives to shorten the supply chain.
Since launch we have partnered with dozens of local businesses and served more than ten thousand customers across Rwanda.
